A magnitude 4.3 earthquake near Mazar-i-Sharif, Mazār-e Sharīf, Balkh, Afghanistan, was reported only 18 minutes ago by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate depth of 130 km beneath the epicenter in the morning on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, at 10:23 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. ...
