A magnitude 4.4 earthquake near Cuenca, Cantón Cuenca, Provincia del Azuay, Ecuador, was reported only 27 minutes ago by the United States Geological Survey, considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate depth of 77.7 km beneath the epicenter in the afternoon on Thursday, June 9th, 2022, at 5:12 pm local time.
