A magnitude 2.8 earthquake near Pozza di Fassa, Province of Trente, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, was reported 35 minutes ago by Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Italy. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 12.2 km beneath the epicenter late at night on Thursday, November 10th, 2022, at 10:22 pm local time. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
A second report was later issued by Austria's Central Research Institute for Meterology and Geodynamics in Vienna (ZAMG), which listed it as a magnitude 2.9 earthquake. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) at magnitude 2.8, and the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 2.8.

Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Pozza di Fassa (pop. 1,500) located 2 km from the epicenter, Santa Cristina Valgardena (pop. 1,500) 15 km away, Selva (pop. 1,600) 15 km away, Urtijëi (pop. 4,300) 16 km away, and Kastelruth (pop. 1,500) 17 km away. In Ziano di Fiemme (pop. 1,700, 18 km away), Deutschnofen (pop. 1,500, 19 km away), Renon - Ritten (pop. 7,000, 20 km away), and Chiusa (pop. 2,500, 24 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
