Moderate magnitude 4.0 quake hits 15 miles northeast of Leinster, Western Australia, Australia early afternoon

Geoscience Australia (GeoAu) reported a magnitude 4.0 quake in Australia near Leinster, Leonora, Western Australia, only 24 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early afternoon on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022, at 3:24 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.0 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Leinster (pop. 1,300) located 15 miles from the epicenter.
