Just 17 minutes ago, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck near McCall, Valley County, Idaho, USA. The tremor was recorded in the evening on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at 8:03 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 9.2 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 3.9 earthquake as well. A third agency, The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.9.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
