A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should have been widely felt by almost everyone in the area of the epicenter. It might have caused light to moderate damage.
Moderate shaking probably occurred in Lake Almanor Country Club (pop. 420) located 1 miles from the epicenter.
In Chester (pop. 2,100) located 7 miles from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Westwood (pop. 1,600) located 8 miles from the epicenter, and Greenville (pop. 1,100) 12 miles away.
