Namatanai, New Ireland, PNG / Strong shaking (MMI VI) : We live in a high set PNG-style wooden house on iron posts. We often feel earthquakes, but it has to be severe shaking before we run out of our house. This one was quite a bit stronger than we usually feel, and we all ran ourside. Trees were swaying severely, and water tanks sloshed for up to 30 minutes after the quake.
