Chengdu / Light shaking (MMI IV)
Xi'an (China, 433 km E of epicenter) : My first Earthquake was that one on the American East Coast a year or two back. By the time I realized what it was, it was almost over. This one seemed weaker, but it I knew what it was immediately, so it caused me a lot more anxiety as I waited the thing out.Not sure if it was useful, but I wanted to say that. (reported through EMSC)
Lanzhou (China, 175 km NW of epicenter) : I lived in Tokyo during the March 2011 Tohoku earthquake so was quite worried at the first shaking but it was over quickly. This felt like a gentle swaying compared to the jerkiness of other earthquakes I've experienced. I have not liver here long and not made my earthquake kit yet - a good reminder to get it done. (reported through EMSC)
