Niolam, Lihir Island / Strong shaking (MMI VI) : There was a very strong shake and we had to live the Camp 2 canteen at the Newcrest Mining camp where we were watching a movie. We walked outside but the quake was strong and made it unsteady to walk so we stood outside until it stopped.
lihir island / Light shaking (MMI IV) : Went on for 6 minutes the first tremor
Florianópolis, Brazil / Very weak shaking (MMI II) : I felt a slight vibration in my building a few moments after the tremor
(Papua New Guinea, 819 km W of epicenter) : Very gentle intermittent vibration of bed and subtle swinging of belt on back of door. (reported through EMSC)
