A moderate to strong quake of magnitude 5.9 occurred 205 km deep under Indonesia's Banda Sea, 300 km east of East Timor. Due to its great depth, only weak shaking arrived at the surface but in a wide area. For this reason, the quake has no potential to cause damage.
