Clovis (United States, 186 km S of epicenter) : Woke me up. (reported through EMSC)
Merced (United States, 184 km SW of epicenter) : This happened here at exactly 1:15AM PST, I was sitting in my wheelchair, at the kitchen table and all at once, my dogs began to whimper and whine, cats are all jumping around, and I began to feel like I was swaying back and forth-side to side.... then my wheelchair began to roll back and forth, only a few inches in either direction. Many friends here very close by felt it and had similar reactions.Oddly enough, I was speaking online at that time with a friend a few hours away in Carson City, Nevada and he was telling me that they had had a 5.7 quake there close to him just a few minutes before. I don't know enough about the science of earthquakes, but I assumed that ours here was related to theirs somehow? (reported through EMSC)
Foresthill (United States, 181 km NW of epicenter) : I'm not quite sure why this is a lower level quake and yet we felt it more thoroughly than the last several that have occurred... Looks like Nevada's blowing up(not.. not literally) right now and we're just feeling it in result. Walls sort of rattled again, windows rattled, dog panicked a big and now she refuses to leave my bed with me. Was already awake despite it being about 1:17AM. Younger brother felt it too. Once again it started out incredibly light and almost unnoticeable, in fact I messaged my brother on a program called Steam and told him we were having another quake and he didn't realize it until it suddenly picked up much larger. Much shorter than the last 2 though. (reported through EMSC)

We truly love working to bring you the latest volcano and earthquake data from around the world. Maintaining our website and our free apps does require, however, considerable time and resources.
We need financing to increase hard- and software capacity as well as support our editor team. We're aiming to achieve uninterrupted service wherever an earthquake or volcano eruption unfolds, and your donations can make it happen! Every donation will be highly appreciated. If you find the information useful and would like to support our team in integrating further features, write great content, and in upgrading our soft- and hardware, please make a donation (PayPal or Online credit card payment).

Planned features:
  • Improved multilanguage support
  • Tsunami alerts
  • Faster responsiveness
Thanks to your past donations, these features have been added recently:
  • Earthquake archive from 1900 onwards
  • Detailed quake stats
  • Additional seismic data sources
