(403.7 km SSE from epicenter) / MMI II (Very weak shaking): We were at Las Palmas Resort in Huatulco, Mexico. We were all sitting outside. It was a very quick bang and vibration, as if something hit the floor with force. Then it was over. I never experienced an earthquake before so I asked staff if that is what is was. They said yes. No damage.
(Mexico) (192 km NW from epicenter)(no details): Second great earthquake in 8 days and this wasn´t an aftershock from the 14 june event.
There is one big seismic swarm in front of Puerto Madero Chiapas Mexico in the area of Middle America Trench since middle may, increment of activity at south of Suchiate Chiapas Mexico-Champerico Guatemala beside the others swarms since 2 years in Pijijiapan and Mapastepec Chiapas Mexico and many other things.
In the 14 june event there wasn't a big aftershock, maybe the subduction is preparing for a big surprise. (via EMSC)

Santa Lucia Milpas Altas, Sacatepequez, Guatemala (79.8 km N from epicenter) / MMI VI (Strong shaking): Woke me up around 6:30 am local time. Seemed stronger than last week's and lasted longer. A few small items fell off a shelf, but nothing broken. Reports of damage in Antigua, Guatemala, plus a church arch cracked in Cuidad Vieja. Also reports of a landslide across the road in Las Cañas between Antigua and San Lucas.
San Juan Sacatepeuez (97 km N from epicenter) / MMI V (Moderate shaking): I was awakened by sustained shaking.
Antigua, Guatemala (90.7 km N from epicenter) / MMI II (Very weak shaking): Felt very little. Was not sure if it was a weak quake until I looked at wine in my glass and saw the surface vibration of the liquid. Very slight movement of hanging light fixtures and no other seen evidence. Family did not mention they felt anything and was surprised to learn of these probable aftershocks of the large quake earlier the same day.
Antigua, Guatemala (98.2 km NNE from epicenter) / MMI III (Weak shaking): So weak, most of family did not feel it. Assumed it was an aftershock of this morning's quake. Dog did not want to go outside just before this small quake and is not leaving my side. Hopefully he is not prophetic.
Ijen volcano photos: Ijen volcano in East Java is famous for its turquoise acid crater lake and the large sulfur deposits that are being mined by local workers. At night, the scene is illuminated by ghostly blue flames, as sulfur ignites.
Intraplate volcanism: A third tectonic setting where volcanism occurs is believed to be the result of mantle plumes and not directly related to plate boundaries. So called hot spot volcanoes fall into this category.
