Tamarindo (36.6 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Moderate shaking (MMI V) : A short shake, was having lunch and felt like someone pushed my chair hard out of the way a few times
Hotel Boyeros, Liberia, Costa Rica / Weak shaking (MMI III) : Three of us were sitting in the lobby of the hotel. We felt our chairs vibrate twice. We looked around, no heavy trucks or other cause. We all said, “Earthquake.”. Our friend outside did not feel it. Another friend resting on a bed did not feel it. I checked the earthquake records and it was at the same time as a reported earthquake for the area.
Ho, Liberia, Costa / Weak shaking (MMI III) : Three of us were sitting in the hotel lobby of Hotel Boyeros. We all felt our chais vibrate. We thought it might be heavy truck. Ruled it out and all of us said, “Earthquake”. I checked last night and there was an earthquake at reported at exactly that same time. Our friend outside did not feel it. Our friend on the bed sleeping did not feel it.
Hotel Boyerous / Weak shaking (MMI III) : Three of us were sitting talking. We all felt our chairs vibrate, looked around. It was not due to heavy truck movement or any thing else. We all said, “earthquake”. Our friend outside did not feel it. The other friend sleeping did not feel it. I checked the earthquake report last night and our two chair vibrations occurred at exactly the same time as the earthquake

Playas del Coco / Moderate shaking (MMI V) : I felt two movements. The first was slight and short. The second was much longer and more pronounced. People had to hold on to railings to steady themselves. Monkeys could be heard and sounded agitated.
