Dingo Beach (66.9 km ENE of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 5-10 s : Working in my office and realising the unmistakable 'feeling'/sound of a freight train gently passing beneath, lasting 5 - 10 secs, and looking back down at laptop time of 00.45am 15/10 - mild but still somewhat eerie | 3 users found this interesting.
Bowen (37.4 km E of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / 2-5 s : I was wide awake at the time. Heard the rumble first, then the rattle. When I said "Earthquake" to my husband he said, "Are you sure it wasn't a gecko in the blind?" Men!!
