Light magnitude 4.2 quake hits 29 miles northeast of Akutan, Aleutian Islands

Just 57 minutes ago, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck near the town of Akutan in the Aleutian Islands. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Thursday 5 November 2020 at 7.17 am local time, at an intermediate depth of 67 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.2 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Akutan (pop. 1000) located 29 miles from the epicenter.
