3.2 quake 21 Nov 1:48 am (GMT -8)
An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred early morning on Saturday 21 November 2020 at 1.48 am local time near the village of Mina, Nevada, as reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 4.8 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service at VolcanoDiscovery identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0.
Despite its relatively small magnitude, the quake could probably be felt very close to the epicenter. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Mina (pop. 200) located 21 miles from the epicenter, and Silver Peak (pop. 100) 31 miles away.
If you were or still are in this area during the quake help others with your feedback and file a quick report here.
