An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred only 17 minutes ago 61 km southwest of La Gomera, Guatemala, the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER) reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 1 km beneath the epicenter near La Gomera, Municipio de La Gomera, Departamento de Escuintla, Guatemala, early afternoon on Saturday 19 December 2020 at 2:42 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
