3.2 quake 21 Dec 6:28 pm (GMT -9)
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude 3.2 quake in the United States near Nanwalek, Kenai Peninsula County, Alaska, only 8 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early evening on Monday 21 December 2020 at 6:28 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 44 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.2 earthquake as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Nanwalek (pop. 250, 12 miles away), Port Graham (pop. 180, 15 miles away), Seldovia (pop. 280, 18 miles away), Seldovia Village (pop. 170, 20 miles away), Anchor Point (pop. 1,900, 28 miles away), Homer (pop. 5,500, 28 miles away), Diamond Ridge (pop. 1,200, 29 miles away), and Fritz Creek (pop. 1,900, 39 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

If you felt this quake (or if you were near the epicenter), please share your experience and submit a short "I felt it" report! Other users would love to hear about it!
Also if you did NOT feel the quake although you were in the area, please report it! Your contribution is valuable also to earthquake science and earthquake hazard analysis and mitigation efforts. You can use your device location or the map to indicate where you were during the earthquake. Thank you!

Data for the same earthquake reported by different agencies

Info: The more agencies report about the same quake and post similar data, the more confidence you can have in the data. It takes normally up to a few hours until earthquake parameters are calculated with near-optimum precision.
