An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred only 7 minutes ago 76 km west of Vinchina, Argentina, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 119 km beneath the epicenter near Vinchina, Departamento de Vinchina, La Rioja, Argentina, in the evening on Tuesday 26 January 2021 at 8:37 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
