An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred only 12 minutes ago 44 km northwest of Dompu, Indonesia, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 154 km beneath the epicenter near Dompu, Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, late at night on Saturday 6 February 2021 at 10:18 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.3 earthquake as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Dompu (pop. 49,000, 44 km away), Bima (pop. 67,000, 59 km away), and Sumbawa Besar (pop. 52,700, 99 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
