3.2 quake 1 Mar 8:43 pm (GMT +1)
An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred in the evening on Monday 1 March 2021 at 8:43 pm local time near Konstanz, Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, as reported by the Swiss Seismological Service (SED).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 22.6 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 2.9 earthquake.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Reichenau (pop. 5,100) located 1 km from the epicenter, Konstanz (pop. 81,300) 9 km away, Radolfzell (pop. 30,100) 10 km away, Überlingen (pop. 21,500) 13 km away, Frauenfeld (pop. 22,000) 18 km away, Singen (pop. 45,700) 19 km away, and Stockach (pop. 16,800) 19 km away. In Friedrichshafen (pop. 58,400, 31 km away), and Tuttlingen (pop. 34,800, 38 km away), the quake was probably not felt.

Info: The more agencies report about the same quake and post similar data, the more confidence you can have in the data. It takes normally up to a few hours until earthquake parameters are calculated with near-optimum precision.

Villingen-Schwenningen / Light shaking (MMI IV) / 1-2 s : I felt a short single shake and at first I thought I was kind of dizzy. I realised it was an earthquake when my mum asked me if I recognised it too. Today I noticed that a small crack in a wall of our house (that has been there before) actually became a quite a lot longer and I associate it with the earthquake the other day.
