A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported in the morning near Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California, USA.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Thursday 4 March 2021 at 7:53 am local time at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.2 earthquake as well.

Miramonte Pl, Santa Rosa, CA (7.4 km SW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / very short : I was in bed, happened to have a garbage truck passing outside at that moment, and even though had never felt a vibration from such a truck, assumed that was the cause. My bed shook enough to be noticeable, so I though maybe a small earthquake. Then I saw an article on-line about it and then met another person on this street who also felt it.
