Just 10 minutes ago, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Perryville, Lake and Peninsula, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded in the afternoon on Tuesday 30 March 2021 at 5:16 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 7.5 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.9 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Perryville (pop. 110) located 52 miles from the epicenter.

Chignik Bay, AK (95.8 km NNW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) : Heard and felt, vibrations and slight side to side movement. Did not awake sleeping dogs. Person that has never felt an earthquake before asked if that was an earthquake, but did not need convincing that it was. Was also felt and recognized at the school. | 2 users found this interesting.
