Tahoma California / Light shaking (MMI IV) / horizontal (sideways) swinging / 2-5 s : I’ve been at Tahoe on and off for 50 years. We seldom feel them because they’re weak on far away. This one was VERY strong with the epicenter (Dollar Point) being 12 miles away. We just felt and after shock that rumbled like thunder. | One user found this interesting.
Incline village / Very weak shaking (MMI II) / 2-5 s : Loud snap went to see if a tree fell on our roof. Was short but loud.

Since it was snowing outside I initially thought it was a tremendous amount of snow falling out of the trees & hitting the house. As I jolted to attention, I realized it couldn’t possibly be that since there was only a 1/2” of snow.. My wife called out “earthquake” & I realized that was what had just happened!

Verdi, NV / Light shaking (MMI IV) / single vertical bump / very short : Just one jolt, but it felt like an earthquake and there was no ignoring it. I thought that it might be followed by a stronger quake, but so far so good.
