Just 22 minutes ago, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Gigmoto, Catanduanes, Bicol, Philippines. The tremor was recorded around noon on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 12:29 pm local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 32 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Gigmoto (pop. 3,300) located 95 km from the epicenter.
