Just 7 minutes ago, a 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Hemet, Riverside County, California, USA. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Tuesday, September 21st, 2021, at 3:41 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 8.1 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.7 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Mountain Center (pop. 63) located 5 miles from the epicenter.

I was gently rocking side to side while looking through my phone out of sheer boredom. Then I felt a harsh jolt and that type of vertical shake.
