The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.2 quake in Peru near Marcona, Provincia de Nazca, Ica, only 12 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021, at 5:54 pm local time at a shallow depth of 25 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
