An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred only 10 minutes ago 94 km northwest of Leh, India, India's National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 210.2 km beneath the epicenter near Leh, Leh Ladakh, Ladakh, India, in the morning on Friday, September 24th, 2021, at 8:20 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Kargil (pop. 13,800, 59 km away), and Leh (pop. 37,500, 94 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
