Moderate magnitude 4.0 quake hits 64 km northeast of Nago, Japan late at night

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.0 quake in Japan near Nago, Nago Shi, Okinawa, only 15 minutes ago. The earthquake hit late at night on Friday, October 1st, 2021, at 10:33 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 40 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
