An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred only 16 minutes ago 11 km northeast of Battagram, Pakistan, India's National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 120 km beneath the epicenter near Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, late at night on Friday, December 24th, 2021, at 10:58 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2 as well.
