Significant earthquake of magnitude 5.1 just reported 26 km northwest of Guadalajara de Buga, Colombia

An intermediate magnitude 5.1 earthquake was reported in the afternoon near Guadalajara de Buga, Departamento del Valle del Cauca, Colombia.
According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake hit on Thursday, May 12th, 2022, at 4:23 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 75 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 5.1 as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 5.2.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Darien (pop. 15,800) located 7 km from the epicenter, Guadalajara de Buga (pop. 118,000) 26 km away, Guacari (pop. 19,600) 32 km away, Tulua (pop. 165,500) 36 km away, El Cerrito (pop. 38,400) 40 km away, Yumbo (pop. 71,400) 45 km away, Palmira (pop. 248,000) 55 km away, Buenaventura (pop. 240,400) 59 km away, and Santiago de Cali (pop. 2,392,900) 61 km away.
