An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred around noon on Sunday, May 15th, 2022, at 12:54 pm local time near El Vergel [Campo], Ensenada Municipality, Baja California, Mexico, as reported by Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 6 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
