A magnitude 4.8 earthquake near Kefamenanu, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, was reported only 12 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate depth of 87 km beneath the epicenter early evening on Wednesday, August 10th, 2022, at 7:03 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 4.8 as well.
