Tiptonville TN (5.5 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 10-15 s : I was reading a book. All of a sudden the whole house shook and rattled kinda hard. I could feel the vibration through the floor. The lamp on my end table moved a little. It felt and sound like it does when there is a heavy thunderstorm. It almost sounded like thunder outside. But it’s clear here. It was enough that it even scared my cats. | One user found this interesting.  
Tiptonville (22.1 km NE of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) : I was at a friend's near Reelfoot Lake in Tiptonville Tn. A little after midnight. The window,pictures and glasses rattled & it sound like a big bang of thunder.felt like maybe 3 or 4 it was a hard intensity shake
