Ebeko volcano (Paramushir Island, Kurils, Russia): strong explosion

The activity of the volcano has remained essentially unchanged at moderate levels characterized by sporadic ash explosions.

On 5 September KVERT recorded strong vulcanian-type explosion that generated a dense dark ash plume, which reached approx. 13,000 ft (3,962 m) altitude and extending about 3 km to the southeast of the volcano.
