Based on observations by volcanologists in Severo-Kurilsk (Paramushir Island), about 7 km E of Ebeko, explosions during 6-7, 9, and 12 October generated ash plumes that rose as high as 3 km (10,000 ft) a.s.l. Ash fell in Severo-Kurilsk on 7, 9, and 12 October. Aviation Color Code remained at Orange (the second highest level on a four-color scale).Source: Kamchatkan Volcanic Eruption Response Team (KVERT)
