A new eruptive phase has been occurring at the volcano again since around 8 December this year. Mild explosive activity has been producing intermittent steam and ash plumes that rose a few hundred meters height and were first noted by inhabitants of Sevaro-Kurilsk on 8 December, but are also visible on cloud-free satellite imagery. ... read all
