Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano (Tonga) activity update: shockwave reached its antipode
The eruption triggered the air pressure wave passing through the globe and after several hours reached its diametrically opposite point on Earth, located in southern Algeria.
The antipode is the point on Earth's surface that refers to opposite latitude and longitude differing by 180°.

First simulation of the atmospheric pressure disturbances generated by the #Tonga volcano explosion compared with observations from different locations. Not bad results for a first guess.@IMEDEA_UIB_CSIC @UIBuniversitat pic.twitter.com/d26wmGiDJY— Angel Amores (@an_amores) January 21, 2022
