An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred only 11 minutes ago 100 km southwest of La Lupe, Mexico, the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER) reported.

The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near La Lupe, Acapetahua, Chiapas, Mexico, early morning on Saturday 26 December 2020 at 6:28 am local time.
