An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred only 8 minutes ago 28 miles south of Deltana, Alaska, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
3.0 quake 29 Apr 6:55 am (GMT -8)
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 7.8 miles beneath the epicenter near Deltana, Southeast Fairbanks, Alaska, USA, early morning on Thursday 29 April 2021 at 6:55 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Dry Creek (pop. 94, 17 miles away), Deltana (pop. 2,300, 28 miles away), and Fort Greely (pop. 540, 36 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
