Moderate magnitude 4.2 earthquake 46 km southeast of Yazman, Pakistan

4.2 quake 2 May 4:20 pm (GMT +5)
4.2 quake 2 May 4:20 pm (GMT +5)
A magnitude 4.2 earthquake near Yazman, Bahāwalpur, Punjab, Pakistan, was reported only 9 minutes ago by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a great depth of 301.1 km beneath the epicenter in the afternoon on Sunday 2 May 2021 at 4:20 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Yazman (pop. 24,600, 46 km away), Bahawalpur (pop. 552,600, 70 km away), Mandi (pop. 40,600, 74 km away), Kahror Pakka (pop. 69,700, 81 km away), Lodhran (pop. 97,200, 85 km away), Ahmadpur East (pop. 116,600, 91 km away), and Hasilpur (pop. 88,000, 93 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
