Photos were taken during 30 Dec 2012 and 2 Jan 2013 from the 400m view point, Pizzo, and Bastimento. The northeastern vent produced very powerful and bright explosions of liquid lava, with ejections into all directions reaching several hundred meters in height and throwing incandescent lava bombs over the upper crater slope.
