Background
The Bekulap volcanic center consists of three possible lava domes and an explosion crater of Pleistocene age (Cameron et al. 1982). The Palpalan and Sumilir volcanoes of IAVCEI (1973) near this location are mapped (Paipalan and Semilir) as sedimentary rocks by Cameron et al. (1982).---
