In the afternoon of 12 July, pyroclastic flows cease. Probably at the same time, a lava flow starts to slowly descend on the southern flank (right). This image shows the lava flow 2 days later, visible as a dark tongue on the upper slope. A now inactive lava lobe forms a prominent dark patch on the upper SW flank (left).
