Light 4.2 quake hits near Iba, Zambales, Central Luzon, Philippines

4.2 quake 29 Dec 1:57 am (GMT +8)
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Iba (pop. 26,900) located 15 km from the epicenter, Amuñgan (pop. 12,400) 16 km away, Liozon (pop. 3,200) 17 km away, Botolan (pop. 23,000) 18 km away, Palauig (pop. 2,900) 20 km away, and San Juan (pop. 5,000) 22 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Poblacion, San Felipe (pop. 15,000) located 31 km from the epicenter, and Masinloc (pop. 28,000) 32 km away.
