Small magnitude 3.0 quake hits 4 miles southeast of Duvall, Washington, United States around noon

The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Duvall (pop. 7,700) located 4 miles from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Union Hill-Novelty Hill (pop. 18,800) located 6 miles from the epicenter, Cottage Lake (pop. 22,500) 8 miles away, Sammamish (pop. 52,300) 9 miles away, Redmond (pop. 60,600) 10 miles away, Monroe (pop. 18,100) 11 miles away, Kirkland (pop. 87,300) 14 miles away, and Bellevue (pop. 139,800) 15 miles away. In Seattle (pop. 684,500, 21 miles away), and Tacoma (pop. 207,900, 40 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
