Light magnitude 4.3 quake hits 92 km southwest of Rivas, Nicaragua early morning

Just 11 minutes ago, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Rivas, Departamento de Rivas, Nicaragua. The tremor was recorded early morning on Saturday 23 January 2021 at 5:27 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 6 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include San Juan del Sur (pop. 7,800) located 73 km from the epicenter, Rivas (pop. 30,000) 92 km away, and Liberia (pop. 45,400) 95 km away.
