Small tremor of magnitude 3.4 reported 11 miles northwest of Stanley, Idaho, United States

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.4 quake in the United States near Stanley, Custer County, Idaho, 31 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early evening on Friday 12 March 2021 at 6:44 pm local time at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.4 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Stanley (pop. 68) located 11 miles from the epicenter. In Challis (pop. 1000, 46 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
