Moderate magnitude 4.3 quake hits 75 km northwest of Te Anau, New Zealand early evening

New Zealand's Earthquake Commission and Geological Survey (GeoNet) reported a magnitude 4.3 quake in New Zealand near Te Anau, Southland District, Southland, only 10 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early evening on Saturday 24 April 2021 at 7:05 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 9.9 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.3 earthquake as well.
