Small 3.8 quake hits near Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas, USA

An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 occurred only 25 minutes ago 21 miles northwest of Concordia, Kansas, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles beneath the epicenter near Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas, USA, early morning on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 6:35 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.8 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Randall (pop. 63) located 8 miles from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Concordia (pop. 5,200) located 21 miles from the epicenter.
